Just an open question to anyone in/graduated from college/uni. (along with a little rant)

Anyone have/had any completely pointless classes? I happen to be in one now called CIS 111, which, being a prerequisite for everything computer related, and me being a high school student, I got pretty much forced into taking by the scheduling office. Now, 2 weeks into the course, I have learned such valuable skills as opening a word document, and how to make folders in windows.... :wallbash:. I'm honestly surprised that they haven't told us how to turn on the computer too...

Of course, now that I'm in such a pointless class, I try to test out of it, only to find out that you can only test out of a course if you are not currently enrolled in it :eyebrow:. well how the f*ck was I supposed to know how f*cking basic it was before I started it? now I'm stuck in it for another 6 weeks, and the professor is stonewalling any attempts of mine to get some of the project work ahead of time, or any other info that might make my time in class productive. So now I've paid over $300 (not including books or travel) to sit in a class and surf the web for 8 weeks.

    /end rant

any suggestions for a way to get something useful out of this?

Not attend? Or perhaps ask for paid work as an assistant?

I skip 3 classes and I fail... worse option than going imo, I don't want to loose the money.

I'll check on the assistant thing, I really doubt it though, a brain dead monkey could teach this course.... it's basically reading out of the textbook.
