Hold out for a desire or nexus one if you can (imo). The new samsung Galaxy is meant to be pretty awsome as well. As someone above mentioned though, there's a shortage of AMOLED screens at the mo and both the desire and nexus are getting "standard" LCD screens in the near future. Hard to say without seeing one how much of a difference there will be, BUT if the change the touch sensor along with the screens it might well be worth the potential loss in IQ for a better sensor...
