Great list, have some rep :thumb:. I'd like to suggest xfire, it's useful for in game chat, screenshots, recording in game video etc.

    +1 for sticky.
i think it should be windows only though, separate should be created for most popular *nix, osx software. or at least separate them into their own lists in the op.
also as a suggestion, those that have x64 version should be noted, and or linked to if not on common downloads page. the more people that use x64, the more developers take note and make more x64 which is a good thing.

Yeah, sticky would be good. Also, why not make it a poll? Then you won't have to do the intensive task of counting and managing the votes, as well as meaning that each person can suggest new programs and have the list updated.

    Agreed.
I only intended this list to be windows software. I think of the programs with links they are all windows so far.
There is already a Mac software list.

I'll add a x64 and x86 thanks for the suggestion.

As for poll you only get 10 or less options and as the OP states this list is based on nearly 300 and growing pieces of software.
It isn't at all hard to add votes to the list as long as they are done in the same manner as the posts already in this thread. Simple copy, paste, sort and add.

I'd like to put a shout in for MagicIso/MagicDisc. Typical Iso/emulator stuff, I found it easier than DaemonTools.
