As the title says... what portable applications do you think every tech enthusiast should have to hand?

The only things I take with me to work are Portaputty, TightVNC viewer, and firefox portable.

A guy's gotta be able to talk to home, after all.

And you still remember. It must have been a hard slap.

I'm happy with chrome, cpu-z and speedfan. Maybe procexp but it's not really necessary, the standard task manager is pretty good. The biggie is a net connection: with one of those, you can get more or less anything onto any machine very quickly. All these tools are online and take no space, so I don't even bother keeping a 'toolkit' on a pendrive. If they don't have a net connection they're beyond help in my book :D

    Theres a portable HDTune!?

Also, couple of web browsers, VLC, Notepad++, GIMP, previously mentioned hardware progs (CPUz, GPUz etc).

Anybody want to point me to a decent portable virus scanner?

Out of interest...Why? Never used it myself, I prefer a Linux Live CD for emergency diagnosis/repair.

I use the Portable Apps platform, but currently installed on that drive are:
    2xClient
    7-Zip Portable
    AIDA32
    Autoruns
    BgInfo
    CCLeaner
    ClamWinPortable
    CommandPromptPortable
    CPU-Z
    IfranView
    KeePass Portable
    Keyfinder
    Opera USB
    Speccy
    SumatraPDF
    WinDirStatPortable
PuTTY (incindentally, there doesn't appear to be any point to the Portable Apps version of PuTTY, as it's already portable.)

For recovery, I'm still a huge fan of BartPE. I only need to work on XP boxes, though, so it may be less than ideal for Vista/Win7.
