Portal 2 will be played first for me. it's been way too long to care about what happened in HL universe. innovative gameplay is what i want!
I'll play HL2, Ep1 and Ep2 again first, so I remember all the subtle details of the story, then I'll play Ep3. Portal 2 can wait till last so I can focus on the supposedly fiendish puzzles a bit better. I do really hope they come out together.
Last time I played HL2 or EP 1 + EP 2 was when EP 2 came out, so to get the most out of the story - Play Portal 2 first, while I download EP 1 + 2 again, then play though them again, THEN only get to EP 3
Is anyone going to play Portal 2 first (as it's likely smaller, will download faster) then switch to Ep3 once it's finished downloading? No? Just me?
I can't wait for Portal 2. Had no idea what Portal was when it popped up, but found it to be one of the most enjoyable games I have played for years.
Jeez you guys got me all excited saw all these comments of people debating whether to play Ep3 or Portal2 first and assumed they were both coming out at the same time. Serves me right for opening thread at Page 2
Valve have been very quiet on the Ep3 front for a long time, I don't even recall seeing any gaming mag "exclusives" so it makes me think that they are maybe just going to spring it on us. The possibility of pairing it with a Portal 2 release is just too awesome to imagine (by the way I'd play Ep3 first) but we can hope. By the way, at no point have I ever had any doubt about their commitment to Ep3, not even a smidgen so shame on any doubters out there they will deliver and it will be worth the wait - how ever long that is.
That's one of the things I love about Valve. It reminds me of the old days when an add would appear in a spectrum mag the week the game came out. None of the years of hype, just a bolt from the blue.
I've still not managed to finish Episode 2 so I'm thinking once a release date is known I'll run through HL2 in it's entirety just in time for Ep3 to unlock. Portal 2 will be a nice diversion if I need a change of pace or once I finish Ep3.
Ahh i'm dying for another Half Life fix soon, i have the feeling the release of ""Orange Box 2" will have to be surrounded by a few days off work to play the series through start to finish! So, what do we think? Will Ep3 be the end of the Half Life 2 saga or will we have an Ep4. Surely its time for a new engine and the apperance of Half Life 3?
This. That's the worst possible accent with annoying speech impediment they could have possibly used. It sounds like kids TV. Not wishing to offend those with speech issues, but that sounds like lazy language rather than a physical ailment and it grates the **** out out of me.
