I didn't intentionally go through it quickly, but I also didn't specifically look at the achievements and go out my way to get them (I prefer the suprise of getting them unexpectedly). I listened to all the dialogues, had a wander round various areas (found lots of "hidden" areas with the scrawlings on the wall) and enjoyed just looking out over some of the vast scenes. I just didn't really get stuck on any of the puzzles, maybe spent a few minutes on some of them trying to work it out. Maybe I just think too laterally. It's not so much a complaint, but I don't think you can accuse me of "speedrunning", maybe some people just have more trouble with the puzzles than others.
Still, it wouldn't be 5 hours. Don't give yourself too much credit, because even the developers take 6 hours to finish it, and they know all the solutions. If you're basing it off the Steam timer, then it's wrong.
Oh by the way, i like how they tied and untied the whole Portal game from Half Life universe. Just think about it : 1) they let the Black Mesa and other references in game, so the whole game is in Half Life universe 2) but at same time Chell was in cryo so long that HL1/HL2 time is long gone.
I've given in and bought it... Should have downloaded by the time im back from dinner with the wench. Would I be considered a bad person if I skipped the good night kiss and ran home to play Portal? Actually, thinking about it, no, I wouldnt.
finished it last night, ate some cake to celebrate and i thought it was good, but not amazing :x. first one felt like a adventure and a gem, this one felt like a really good game. sorta like left 4 dead > left 4 dead 2. second one is better, but somehow not.. :x notsure if i found any hidden area's, i hardly saw any random scrawlings
This is doing my nut. My PS3 is at uni in Leeds, so I've had to borrow my girlfriends PS3, so I could connect it to steam and download it on my PC. But of course the sodding Playstation Network is down, what a joke it is. I should have just bought it for the PC like I was going to. These hackers bore me.
Spoiler you know when you copied the bad turret to make all turrets bad turrets? I was well miffed you couldn't do that with a coffee mug
Would love to try co-op with this, as single player has so enthralled me thus far, so if you don't mind a pc-player that uses a controller feel free to add me, as I'll be online later tonight, and almost all of tomorrow (if the weather isn't nice anyway): Malvolio_Stick. No friends yet, so you'll be the first then, lucky you... whoever you are.
I'll add you when I get back on, looking for someone to do some MP with my mp partner (random) DC'd this morning halfway through a group of test chambers.
