I am currently spec-ing a multi-purpose build, including for video editing, and intended to use an Asus p8z77-v pro motherboard. Whilst I'm reasonably confident that 16GB of RAM will be more than enough, I thought it prudent to instal that, at the moment, but allow myself scope to upgrade, in the future. Logically, if incorrectly, it seemed the best idea was to use 2x8GB now, to make any upgrade easy. I note, however, that this is not an option, on the board's QVL. Is this because a pair of 8's is simply unusable, technically, or is it likely to just apply to Asus boards, and may be adequately supported, elsewhere, if I shop around enough. If so, any suggestions, as to where, would be much appreciated. Thanks all.
