I tought it would be cool if everyone posted what new modding tools they got for christmas For christmas my parents got me a dremel. they got me the MultiPro pictured above My sister got me an extra hands stand which i guess was a popular item in my area cuz 4 of the 5 stores she looked at were out of stock. It should come in handy for the electronics in Burning Full Tower -glenn
i got a dremel too - no pics though am at home -> no camera. it's got a wierd display box type thing, which i might mod...
Tomorrow I'm buying a jigsaw and a circular saw with some of my christmas money I'll post pictures tomorrow perhaps. -Sam
No pics here, but i got a drill press (one of those bench drill thingamies)... £30 from B&Q... cheap as chips!
I don't know if this would count but I had one of those "Extra hands" and I gave it to my English teacher for her Christmas present. My handwritting is very small and she often says that one these days it will make her blind. The magnifying glass works somewhat on my handwritting because it makes it appear normal. Her husband is an engineer so maybe he will use it to do his own modding job.
I like my land lord, I really do. It's a Wavetek 15XL Multimeter, description: This is all my land lord said when he gave it to me "didn't want you to go out and buy a cheap piece of $%*#"
meh, I have a cheap POS multimeter, and it works fine. I still suck at electronics though... I know! I'll blame the cheap multimeter!
Re: Re: Post pics of your new modding toys!!! Seconded! Am going to attach a fan where the magnifying glass was to get rid of the solder fumes. No mod tools yet but no doubt buying some in the next few days
I gots a gift certificate to lowes home improvement. I'm going to go buy myself a drill press as it seems like the best modding tool I could use right now
Re: Re: Re: Post pics of your new modding toys!!! Good idea... I've got a few 40mm fans kicking around...
I got a Dremel MultiPro with the drywall cutting attachment thing. I'm not gonna cut any drywall, but it'll probably help for making one of those swanky lighted mousepads.
I got a 1050W compound mitre saw, a 1020W plunge router, a 1500W 250mm table saw, and a nasty little jigsaw. Drill press is next on the books.
Is it possible to turn a drill press into a manual router? with a table that can be moved on the X Y axis? or will the motor bearings not be able to take the side pressure?
my grandparents bought me a new black and decker workmate - the new type with a vertical clamp - well chuffed when i built it last night.....
