Yep, we don't have high voltage cables above our trains though, so our buses can go under:blah:

@RTT, those, i believe are only for services from Guildford to London, not seen them in Portsmouth or Havant, which use these:

    Class 450 South West Trains:

@DXR_12KE, we get quiet a few deaths near me, due to the 3rd rail, drunk people pour out from one of the Night Clubs, and use the Railway as a more direct route into Chichester, the result is a Class 377 (pictured above) hitting these people at 70mph, or they run onto the 3rd rail.

We have one double decker in Denver. RTD had it on the 'S' route years ago but it went somewher? when we increased the light rail. I took the double from Westminster to Orchard rd. - a long ways. Nice bus. Better than the 'flexible" I think.

In Utrecht I used to go to Uni with these roadtrain busses:
They ride every 5 minutes, are 25m long, and every single one is jampacked full of people. :eeek:
These busses are quite unique in the world, and the city of Utrecht built two buslanes right through the heart of town for these beasts to ride on. Outside those two lines, they aren't used in anywhere else Holland.

    Train i take daily now:

This is a boubledecker train type, used heavily by the dutch railways. I ride the one to Schiphol airport daily. Too bad these things are utterly inadequate for that, since they have no storage room for big luggage :wallbash: It's a daily fight between travellers and commuters to get the suitcaes off the seats.

That's possibly the coolest bus ever. Utterly ridiculous but awesome :D

What makes Ottawa worse (when I was there) is that her bus fleet is ****ing $3 a ride, and that gives you a 2 hour transfer. Normally, a 2 hour transfer would be fine, except when the bus doesn't come oh, three times in a row? You're suddenly WAY outside the two hour window, and even though the driver says "Yeah, I'm sorry that I'm late, problems at the depot" the ****er won't take the trasnfer." Great.

Here, We've got Mississauga Transit. It's okay, but ti tends to have a lot of asshole passengers.

I think we should show Boris one of these and stand well back for the reaction.

We don't have any interesting mass transport system in Bristol or at home just some very expensive busses as someone mentioned earlier.

believe it or not, they are actually not that rediculous, they are filled to capacity, and the buslanes at the station and uni are so clogged up that you coldn't just send two smaller busses. Plus these guys only need one driver :D

They are pretty awesome though. If you stand in the back part and the bus makes a sharp corner, you can look at the front of it from the side.

We do have high voltage overheads, just not as commonly as most other countries. :)

They also run from Reading<->Waterloo & Ascot<->Waterloo. Class 450s also run on those routes

Does anyone live on the Uckfield line? They've got diesel ones that look a bit like the electrostars pictured earlier, they don't stop at my station, but I see them fly through.

(Yup, I was too lazy to upload an empty image here, just imagine seeing one here)

I live in a city with some 60k people and the public transport practically doesn't exist. I sometime tried to take a bus to the school when it was -30 C out there, but after figuring that I should walk half the way to the school and then wait at the school for an extra hour I just forgot about it. Some say they've seen busses here, but I've lived here for only seven years no so I haven't been lucky enough... Maybe one day I'll see one...

NYC has some interesting public transport. Runs 24 hours a day 7days a week, 365 days a year. Never downtime with these things. But I prefer to drive my mustang instead. A person in NYC would never need to drive, but I prefer it even though traffic is murder at times.

This is the station near my house.
