Hey, what happened to this thread? Went and died while I was absent. No HD love?

Just got the Bourne trilogy, the Matrix, Iron Man and Good Night, And Good Luck. All benefit immensely from high definition, though the first Bourne film it doesn't make much difference because most of the film takes place in blurry, dusty places. So you get extra-detailed blur and extra-detailed dust :wallbash:

The Bourne Trilogy is all kinds of awesome. Was thinking about picking it up on Blu-ray to replace the DVD versions, but now not sure.

Went out yesterday on a Blu-ray mission to Truro. Picked up Leon, Evangelion: You Are (Not) Alone, Star Trek Nemesis and JJ Abrams Star Trek.

I don't think I could watch that in HD. The bottle...eurgh.

Actually scratch that, I couldn't watch that film again at all.

In other news, Black Hawk Down doesn't look much different on Blu-Ray than on DVD.

What's Akira like on BR? Have they spiced it up or does it just look amazing without it?

It's pretty amazing. It's full HD with some insane audio options going on (50GB disc mostly taken up with TrueHD audio!).

Best is the colour and contrast. The most vivid I've ever seen it. I think when Pioneer released it about 8 years ago they scanned it all in HD for the DVD releases so they've obviously just grabbed those scans and spruced them up even more :)

Haha you're welcome! Thanks for the rep :)

I think I got it from eBay from MovieTyme (bit cheaper than on their website).

You have very good taste in films.

I think I'm going to get The Lives Of Others on blu-ray. Also Unforgiven.
