I know that quite a few bit-tech users have modified their cell phones.
I would like to see posts of what you have done.

    -------------------
I have a old, but awsome Denso Touchpoint 2200 that I am modifying currently. (Details later)
I already vinyl dyed it black.

    Planned mods:
    Red LEDs
    Keylight
    Redesigned keypad
    Inverted LCD

I was actually thinging about asking for a mobile phones forum. I even typed out the message, but then I choked. I had a question, but it seemed so OT i didn't bothere. I've got a 3210. who hasn't? that's not my question. I've upgraded the software to v6.01 something and turned on the extra games and unlocked it and turned on the vibration menu and all the boring rubbish everyone does. Waht I wnt to know is: Is teher a firmware flash to allow me to store more than 10 sms messages on this phone? I hate having to delet one to recieve another, and I have some I want to keep. Suggestions?(buy a new phone...;) )

Humm that is a decent question but the last three phones that I have had all have been limited to 10 sms messages saved. My current phone has software that allows me to save everything to my computer as a backup rather than everything on the phone.

Changed the LEDs in my Nokia 5165 to blue. Looks nice but the phone's about to die. I think it's about time to get a new one. The case is all scuffed up and stuff :(

I used to be into this alot... unlocking via both cable and flashing,

Modded LEDs, blue, red, yellow, combos etc... all Nokia's mainly

    Custom logo's, startups etc...

Adding vibration motor and activating menu for it on 3210, plus extra "hidden" games

    :cooldude:

Bit o' everything really... all the dodgy phones in the local area used to pass through me... :worried:

Changed the LED's to blue on a Siemens C35i that I gave to my brother and which he now has lost :wallbash:

Also (not much of a difficult mod) but changed the covers on my Sony Ericcson t68i to those of the original Ericsson t68, and also changed the buttons for those clear plastic ones. (will post pics later in the week if you don't know which ones I mean)

I want to strip the phone again and vinyl dye all the covers black, then rub the numbers off the clear plastic buttons. I think it will look 'ghetto' being all black with just loads of blue light coming out the keypad :thumb:

@ inder: do you have any guide on how to add vibration to a 3210? I just bought one of those special screwdrivers so now I can open up my GSM and Ti83 and laptops and other cool stuff that uses ****ed up screws. And a friend of me ripped a vibration motor out of a 3310.

Ill have a hunt around, mainly all you need to do:

    - open phone up with the torx screwdriver (some screws under aerial, take it off carefully not to break it, six screws on phone if i remember correctly)

    - take out PCB, on the back, should see two long gold contacts next to each other

    - solder motor in place ... put back together making sure it can spin in the cap in the metal back cover

    - use some software to activate menu in phone so you can turn it on and off as needed

Probably best to do a google search first, the motor your mate got you will work perfectly :)

    Hm, ok.
I asked him but he doesn't want to give/sell it to me, he's always playing with it during lessons.
Would I be able to buy it in an electronics store?

Perhaps, try Conrad? Not sure of a suitable electronics supplier in Belgium.

I think Conrad sell them, actually labelled as for 3210.

I know of a UK supplier however.

You could be sneaky, open his phone, take out motor (its not soldered) and close it back up... :naughty:

This is what I did to my Siemens C45i. I opened it up, and put a piece of paper with my name on it behind the screen. Then, when the phone lights up, and you see it from the right angles, my name appears behind the text. It is slightly disfocused, because I put it far back in the screen. If I had put it closer to the LCD itself, it would have been hard to see text on top of the image. I helped my friend do this to his phone too, with a cute little dragon :). Don't think I broke the warranty either, 'cause these things pops apart easily. No screws!
I got the idea from rautermods
