    Any chance of EXIF info? Agree with brett on the sharpness though, impressive indeed!

    Nice one... love the triple-explosion. I need to sort through my Aperture library properly to find my good ones again, but here's one I dug up that I rather liked.

    I went to the display at Brockham this evening which was immensely impressive for a village display. Bonfire taller than all the houses on the green around it - and was hot like the sun - and four tonnes (!!) of fireworks which were quite incredible. Well worth the voluntary donation!

    Unfortunately I didn't take the cam with me so only got a couple of snaps on teh camera phone which are worse than gash. Shame as, in hindsight, I'd like to have captured some of it on film.

    Nice shots, guys. They all hand-held?

    Hoping to get out on wednesday for my local display, weather permitting I'll be giving it a go as will the g/f.
    Shame we only have one fifty.

    Mine was on a loose tripod, but I'll probably be trying some handheld shots the next time I've got an opportunity. I did get a pretty decent long-exposure of a bonfire from the event (4th of July, though I'd say you'd be wise to take us back over) from sitting the camera on my lap which I'll post up if you like.

    Couple from my local display, all hand held unfortunately because I arrived too late to set up properly.

    Really like number 5 there alastor, any chance of the original? (i'[m kinda collecting good photo's from the forums as desktops :))

    I took some at my local show but it they came out very poorly, pictures of the fire were much better though. I need to work out how to manual focus on my S5700 but in all honesty, last night was the first time that I've felt the real need for an dSLR.

    Manual focus, everything was roughly the same distance away.

    These were taken at a village a few miles from where I live.

    The bonfire was pretty spectacular and you were able to get very close to it. Which proved to be a negative as some cheeky scamps had seeded the bonfire with bangers!

    I've uploaded them into a Flash Gallery here, thank god for Adobe Lightroom!

    If you squint your eyes picture 14 looks a bit like a phoenix!

    Yes I was thoroughly missing the manual focusing, you can do it on mine but haven't worked it out yet, it really needed it, oddly my old powershot A60 had no problems focusing on fireworks even in AF.

    @Alastor, cheers buddy :)
