(Slightly Old pic, Bezel is lit better now)

I have the standard Antec Case.
I have done quite a few Mod's to my system, but few to my actual case. (lit bezel, AMD aplique).

My system is in a desk behind a door most of the time.
So I don't even use the door the case came with.

I have seen window mods, and lit door edges, but not much else.

I am thinking of a window (lit red on the inside)
I also want to be able to access the DVD (Slot) while the door is closed. (Simple cut in window with Eject switch Wired)

If you have any idea's/pics please post them here

    PLAN B.

My second idea is a bit more ratical.
I am thinking to move the DVD to the bottom Side of the case.
(Mount it verticaly next to air intake)
Mount the CD-RW on the other side, not sure if it is capable though, got to try it out.

Move the Floppy and Compact Flash reader to the 3.5" slots.
And the USB and switched to some other spot.

Then use the space I free up in the 5.25" bays to install a large radiator and cutsom made water cooling system.
Then put in a large LED strobed fan into the front of the case.

I can't do this until I got more money though.

    Any thoughts?:naughty:

sounds like a damn good idea to me. when you say door shut do you mean the cupboard door of the case door?
like the idea of positioning the dvd and cr-rw vertically. v ingenious :D

The door to the desk is shut most of the time.

My PC is very quite in the first place, but it makes it nearly silent.
Good for movies and music, and hearing footsteps in games.
But the system heats up by 5-8 degree's when the door is closed. (Even though there is a 120mm fan in the back of the desk)

I am planing on modding the bottom the desk to allow for air intake. Mabye even add some extra fans. But I will make sure to keep the silent. I will need to use air filters though, right now the case stays completly dust free.

I still want the Case to be sweet looking.
Also my intent is to keep everything Inside the case so If I need to move it It doesn't require major re-wiring.
(working on this right now, internalizing as much as possible)

    Other than that:

    Boggy good idea but....
1, I can't run the house AC all the time
2, The AC vent is 20 feet away in the ceiling
3, How do I show it off at LAN parties?

    iSteve:
Since the case in in a desk most of the time I decided not to put in a window.

    Here's a side Pic:

Well, not sure if this is what you mean or not, but I took my door off all together and so far this is what I have:

Plans include moving the floopy down to the right side front and making the side open like a door, revealing the floppy... hopefully I will get that down this coming weekend.

The drives will be stealthed and buttons/LEDS relocated. That leaves me the lower half (below the drives) open, more options for modding.

I saw another bezel similar to daydreamingknights'.
I gave me a good idea.
I am going to forget the door, and just make the upper face look better.
Instead of the copper pipe you have on yours' I am going to add two Red Cold Cathodes.
I will then add some sort of removable surrounding so that they will light the drive face's, or I can have them showing entirely.

Or even still mod the door with a window, and lightup the inside with the cathodes.

    What do you think?

Ah forgot where I saw it.
    Thanks Macroman.
Good tips on cutting the bezel, I can use that for the lightning rod.

    Macroman is a moddin' god!

I have gotten several good ideas from him, hopefully I'll be able to expand and have something original. I think the CC idea would be nice, but its a pretty tight fit. I'm going out next weekend to find alum tubing to replace the copper.

Hmm, the crackel lightning tubes are nothing more than the one's sold for cars. (and caseetc.com even says so in the manual on their site)

There are two brands, LiteGlow and StreetGlow
The ones at CaseEtc look like LiteGlow.
The lowest price I have found is $27.80 so Im going to look around more before I buy.

(Also I am going to sheild the back of the bezel like crazy)

Although I did see someone with one of those crackel lightning disks on the side of their PC.

    We will see.

    Could also do this..

Take the idea of putting the CCs into acrylic tubes and go one step further by using black tinted tubes. I imagine CCs with no covers would be VERY bright. But CCs in black tinted tubes would still produce a good bit of light, but not so much as to blind you.

Personally I like the idea of the lightning CCs, but considering that you don't have much space at the top of the case, the end of the CCs will have to stick out the top.

Well I found some cheap lightning neon's at pepboys. ($20)
They say red, but are much closer to orange.
Also they don't use glass beads, they just use a broken glass tube inside another tube, inside a lexan tube.
This makes it so that the light travels on ONE path only.
    (The good ones jump around)

So I am going to search more.
    (PS the brand was Quest)
