I know quite a few of you play this and i thought it would be interresting to see what everyone's doing with their characters. Here's mine: SPECIAL: 6,6,4,6,10,5,10 Skills: Barter, Guns, Lockpick, Repair, Science and speech are maxed, Sneak is at 50. With my SPECIAL and skills 've been working towards the ability to uncover as much content as possible, which means no locked dialogue options or doors holding me back. As far as combat goes i'm a rifleman. Starting Traits: Trigger Discipline (if i were to re-roll i'd consider Wild Wasteland instead) Good natured (this has set back my gun skill initially, but since i don't use any other combat skills i was happy to trade that +5 for 20 extra points in other important skills. Perks: Commando, Comprehension, Explorer (cheesecake), Hand Loader, Intense Training (5) Jury Rigging (cheesecake), Lady killer - this is not essential but it can save you 500 caps early on Swift Learner 2 Tag! Weapon Handling Swift Learner, Comprehension, Tag and Intense Training in addition to my 10 INT really helped me maximise my skill point gain. As i explained earlier, good Natured played a good part aswell but it might not be helpful if you're not going for the same skills that i am. In that case perhaps try the opposite trait. Challenge/extra perks: Abominable, Animal control, Bug Stomper 3, Free Radical, Khan Trick, Lord Death, Luck implant (I have way too much money), Power Armor Training, Search and Mark Spotter The last two are companion perks and they point out anything interresting. Equipment: NCR Ranger Combat armor (i like trench coats and it's the next best thing after power armor as far as DT goes) 1st Recon Beret Rebreather Brush gun Mysterious Magnum
I want to play New Vegas but I also need to study. I thoroughly enjoyed FO3. Did you play FO3 as well? How does NV compare?
They are both great fun and equally addictive but i think at this point i have a slight preference towards NV's setting and i admire Obsidian's writing.
There is a mod to enable wild wasteland without the trait, as iirc it doesn't really unbalance the game at all http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35653
Are there any bobbleheads in NV? Or did you just waste a SPECIAL stat by maxing it right at the start? (actually, 2 of them... )
Will post my character soon (just getting some better gear for him) there aren't any bobbleheads, there are snow globes (collectable like bobbleheads, but no stat boost) as far as I can remember, there aren't any permanent stat boosters outside of the books. I enjoyed the crafting, story and general setting in NV a lot more, was nice having lots of different factions, rather than just BoS/Enclave, NV feels like a much more believable world. As for the mods I use: FOOK - Adds weapons and armour, as well as a few other tweaks Perk every level - as it says Holster - an equipable holster, so your pistols no longer look like they attach via magic fellout - de-oranges the game Real Time Settler - Just look it up, awesome mod Wasteland Defence - similar to RTS, but with just defending a tower MTUI - de consolifies the GUI Readius NV (turns your Pipboy into a PDA type thing, looks much nicer) Weapon Modification Extension - Adds more weapon mods, as well as a few non weapon specific ones.
No, you have implants but i didn't find out about them untill later in that playthrough. I wanted to max out INT right off the bat, for everything else i took Intense Training and Implants.
