The residence where I live in nearly empty, hence the insane speeds...

Just thought I'd do another, most were 300ish, then this one appeared...

You still would struggle to saturate that connection. Impressive.

Well that's fine, neither can I. We can use the CRAZY FAST internet to order 18 million Domino's Pizzas at once, and use them to sustain us until death.

That would cost money. With a connection like this I should just build a server farm and rent out space on it...

Edit: I've got over my best several times now, but I wont post anything till I gett 500Mb/s... Thats my goal, and I've come close...

    Edit again: look at this...

Well, I think I've found out why my internets been going crap in the evenings.

We've got a 40GB Download limit, last month, we apparently downloaded nearly 80GB, :D, oops.

Luckily they seem to have just been throttling us and not charged us for the extra, the bill for that month comes tommorow so we'll see if they've charged us for 40GB extra then, :D.

I have my PC, clothing and life savings packed.

I also bought a few 1TB hard drives to be filled with data. Don't worry, I will only be there for a few days.

    Promise.

This is as good as it gets for me:

Oh, and for a short while, a long time ago, I had this. Note the date:

Half a meg? How do you handle that? I get cranky and violent when I go down to 1.5Mbps. :worried:

With equal measures patience and fury.

I had to reinstall L4D2 from disk earlier (I prefer hard copies for obvious reasons), and just updating it took 3 hours. TF2 is a nightmare too, as Valve like to do 300MB updates over a few days sometimes. Updating Win 7 from install was a bit of a nightmare. We have been having extra trouble lately, too, because the telephone socket the router is attached to had its cables run UNDER a doorway. So whenever significant pressure was placed on that point, it cut the connection. Did I mention that was the living room door? Eventually it refused to give out any signal, and we got a mate of a mate who is a BT engineer to fit a new booster box that runs OVER the doorway. Handy.

We also found out that AOL are capping us at .5 when our line is capable of 2.2. I wish my dad wasn't so susceptible to AOL's plans of "DON'T LEAVE US LOOK WE'LL CHARGE LESS" tactic.

We did just get a free D-link router out of them, though, after threatening to leave as we weren't getting service.

Bloody hell... How fast can you actually download from say usenet or steam? Would there be a bottleneck server side???
