Speed at work....
13:30 - 05/02/2015
Work Speed Test
This is just the speed I can get off the production LAN.
Mostly of the bandwidth is dedicated to the 3 onsite data centers servicing most of EMEA. (Central Europe Hub connecting satellite sites to HQ in USA) we have a few 1gbps dedicated lines in.
So 4G towers have recently been getting installed around parts of Cornwall and I thought I'd give the connection a quick test on my mobile.
That's a pretty nice increase of approximately 14Mb/s on the download over what my BT Infinity offers.
If the service gets stable enough to warrant it, I'd consider switching to a mobile broadband service for my PC.
Though on the other side, the upload is almost half of my FTTC connection.
My Home connection
Not too shabby:
Happy enough with that.
EDIT: Home connection, btw.
While streaming 1080p web-content on my tv!
Quite a significant bump
Home: (Sky Fibre Unlimited, via wireless connection) - could be worse! Could be the ADSL we had!
Only got it for 2 weeks more as I move house to a non-cable area, so it will be Sky then.
I can live with this on a 3 USB tether, WIFI tether is atrocious
Blagged a free upgrade to Virgins top package the other day
Virgin Media, CrapHub 2 in modem mode, Asus RT-AC56U, Intel AC7260 wireless card.
So this is my 4G connection on Three from my home. Which peaks at 55Mbps
And this is my home broadband...
My throttled work connection ISP name may give a clue who it is...
A bit down today but still acceptable
And that is amazing! For the last 6 months we didn't get more than 1Mbit down, except for the time between 2am and 12 noon... on weekdays.... not on public holidays, though.
