Nice cards there Highland3r :thumb: .

As for the EK blocks, I managed to pick one up at specialtech, not sure on their stock levels atm but it is an awesome bit of kit. In my loop, it only added about 2-3C to my CPU temps but lowered my BFG 640Mb 8800GTS temps to 40C idle/ 48C load, from 64C idle/ 90C load.

It looks freakin beautiful too, it's so well made. I forgot to take some pics before I popped it in my loop. Next time I add something to/change/drain my loop, I'll be sure to stick some pics up for ya :)

As for Vmods, I've been sizing up the effort of the guys over at XS and it looks fairly straightforward. Now all I need is a hand that doesn't shake like a 90 year old's and a decent soldering iron :)

    EK Cooled 8800GTX

    Hi All,

I have been drooling over this tread for some time now, and finally have something worth showing.

I have the EVGA 8800GTX (ACS3) which is now cooled by an EK Block. The default cooler kept idle temps at 74C & 83 at load, but this block now has it at 40C idle & highest load so far is 48C. The loop contains the other blocks in my sig and all cooling is done via 2 x BI Stealth rad, so overall it's not too bad.

    Enough talking:

Got my new 8800 GTS 640Mb this morning, whacked it in and have been playing Oblivion and Command and Conquer 3 with settings maxed out =)

My old card is a 6600GT.

Yeah, it is now. I took that picture when I'd just installed the card and put that one screw you can see in for the backplate to rest on.

I had that exact 6600GT but when I got my new mobo which didn't have any AGP slots I used a PCI version I had kicking about for a while until I got my 8800

I own an ATi x850 XT PE, which is at stock clock speeds. It gets the job done, decently. The only downside is that it has SM 2.0, so I cannot play some of the newer games such as Colin McRae: DiRT.

I see Gordon looking over your card...
    Going to get Ep2?

Why do people rave about the 6600GT?
It's really pushing the price up, it's not worth it. The 7300GT is cheaper, faster, and supports SM3
