just blow a fan at it...it s not that much of a heat generator...it gets really hot because the air is still around it...
or get some watercooled enclosures from pug...

    one for Zap I'm thinking:
combined power and hdd-activity LED - i'm imagining dull for power, with bright pulses for activity. (i thought about bi-colour, but i want to use a vandal-resist switch which i can't change the LED in)
think it will be possible, but i don't want to mess it up...

    how's about it Zap?

i second this one. I need something along these lines for my next mod. I want to light a piece of plexi one color when power is one, but have it change with the activity to a different color, and then back to the power color when activity is over. huh, huh, you know you want to write that guide!

i did see those both, but am not sure how to wire the circuit i want.
if i was to simply have both 'power LED' and HDD LED' connected to the same LED, I imagine I would blow it. so i guess i'm asking how much resistance i need to add to the inputs - do i need to add some to both?

I'd like to see a guide on how to make some homemade surround headphones, similar to Zap's. I like the idea of surround headphones, but the only ones I've seen are the Zalman RS6F's, but I've heard the frequency rating starting at 50Hz is bad. I'd also like a guide on how to make moterized parts on a PC using motors, servos, or whatever. Allelectronics.com has some cheap DC motors, but I don't know if they would be of any use.

[EDIT] Never mind, found the link in your project log. Missed it before. :duh: [/EDIT]

    here's one with a doorbell
    http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28523&highlight=doorbell

Not exactly a car alarm remote, but it is wireless and you can change the switch if you don't like the doorbell look.

    Bending, cutting plexi is easy..

just with cutting plexi u have to be careful to keep it from vibrating or it cracks :(

To bend plexi u just heat in hoven or with hot air gun (or similar) then bend via hand (with gloves... der) :grr:

Just Take ur time with plexi and itll work well

grr... my weak search-fu makes me crazy...

trying to find something that shows opening up an in-case "fan grille" with a hole saw...

search returns anything with "hole" and/or "saw" in it...

    a little help?
