I am now in the process of putting together a brand new machine, but this time, I'm paying a lot more attention to the case. Even with all the reviews around, I'm still having trouble pinning this thing down. So I will ask for some features and you can either point me in the right direction or flame me like crazy I want front mounted USB ports, 120mm fan holes where I can get them because I'm not in a situation to drill my own right now. So this implied good design for airflow fo cooling (I really hate those silly partitions that seperate top from bottom). Mid to full tower as I will need a minimum of three 5 1/4 bays, and I have a tendancy to use all slots at my disposal. I would prefer to avaoid aluminum. This may seem crazy, but I'm afraid it will be a problem when I transport my system, as I often do, and I'm a big guy. My current system is about 50-60 pounds and it doesn't bother me *too* much. If I'm wrong about the aluminum being too easy to dent/scratch/ect, lemme know. And of course, it has to have mod potental Just in case my planned specs might help: Abit NF7-S, Athlon XP, at least '2000+' (I need to look at my budget after I have everything else), I'll be transplanting my SCSI card and TV tuner, as well as my CD-ROM and CD-RW drives. In addition I'll be putting a DVD drive in it as well. A baybus would be nice, but I don't really need it at this point. I hope this little question isn't an annoyance, but with all the cases out there, and the reviews, I'm a bit confused. I want to order thsi part first, before ordering everything else for my new system.
I've always found the Antec/Chieftec/Chenming design most appealing... Personally I would say get the Antec Plus View 1000AMG It has front USB and IEEE1394 (Firewire) Ports, 5 fan mounts and 10 drive bays, about 6 are HDD but I think their specs may be inaccurate... anyhow Linkie
