Those who have posted multiple entries...

Could you please let me know which is your final one so I can close the other thread (will help for the poll).

Unless that has changed, I should have just the two entered. I need the email address to send the larger image to again though as I can't find it.

I did mention that originally but since the organisation of it was disasterous (my fault) I took it out, and with the improved subforum structure I didn't think it was necessary anyway, since me making a separate page containing all the entries was meant to enable easy browsing of them.

Bindi, the two entries rule has been there since the first post. :thumb:

I know what you mean, the quality and diversity of entries has been quite astounding really considering it's the very first month that the competition's happening. However I think that would just complicate things and as far as I know vB doesn't allow more than one vote on the same poll so it would probably be more trouble than it's worth (externally hosted polls etc. etc.) so I don't think it'll be happening this month. Of course if RTT applies some sort of jiggery pokery and makes it very easy it's a possibility for in future months. :)

Hey, we're still chugging up the old learning curve here. Many thanks to nath and the rest for putting both this forum and the POTM contest together :thumb:

I was just gonna get a list of everyone's entry for the voting Poll. I remembered reading in the discussion threads about 1 entry per person.

I'll sort it out now, ill bung up an excel spreadsheet or something.

Edit: Have a list of 22 names. Now: Do I put the names down so people with 2 entires has twice as much chance, regardless of picture, or, names AND picture title which is more photo specific. Ive got an idea you'll say the latter which will be more work :'( as there are 33 entries.

    I stand corrected then. :D

Still, will keep it to one vote for this month just to keep it simple & have a proper think about it after then.

I have merged the two threads so some of the replies might not make sense, but it seems more sensible to keep it all within one thread.

We could have 2 votes and two entires, that way, people who submitted only one aren't at a disadvantage to everyone else.

edit: no, doesnt work, ill shut up.

So, really, you mean midnight on the 26th since 23:59 is 25th and 00:00 is the 26th.

Can we make sure that the poll is hidden until the end of the month. I dont want to see how the poll is progressing. should be left to an announcement when voting is closed.

Also, do you vote for your favourite photo, or your favourite photographer? In addition, can all entries be composed into a single thread, or a single page created so all entries can be browsed together. too difficult to compare shots otherwise.

finally, does the winner get to pick next months theme?

Probably, will have to dig around when I'm making the poll though.

The entries in the poll will be the photographers, so vote for who you think has produced the best result(s) in the month.

Working on that at the moment.

    Yes.

I think we should just have the photos up without the name of the photographer.. people vote on the photos they liked best.

This gives it an even chance to those who've only posted on photo imo as people don't immediately know who took which photo.

^ I agree. Pictures without names makes for better voting, in my opinion. It reduces the chance that, if split between two photos, someone will vote for their friend. Of course, that could just be me being paranoid :worried:

Erm if someone wants to vote for their mate then it's fairly easy to look for their entry and find out which one it is. Point being either people can be trusted to vote for whichever photographer has produced the best photograph(s) or there's no point in there being voting at all.

In an ideal world, I think you should have a "ballot" screen with just clickable thumbnails of all the entries and a radio button next to each one.

I can't wait to see all the entries together. Ought to be interesting :D
