Hey Nath, great work mate. Quick question; are there any plans for past content be moved over to the site so we get a proper archive, like?

 

It's possible to give ones own pictures points by the way. Dunno if you want to change this...

 

OleJ: It's self-regulating. You COULD wore for yourself, but then you would have to walk around with a bad feeling all day.

Hah aUser is a test account I was using for the write-up (PotM site is my A2 coursework) and I didn't feel comfortable including "titsmcgee", the other test account, in important documents.

OleJ, yeah sorry I was just testing a few things out - all votes have been removed from the database now. Yep, I'll be changing it so you can't vote for yourself, as it was on the previous site.

Hwu, it'll probably happen eventually, would be quite handy!

I actually thought it had been scripted to open/close etc. automatically? But it was perhaps just my vivid imagination

 

Well no, but there are about 6 people who can change it to voting.

Edit: just to elaborate on that...sometimes there are different circumstances (e.g. if there are very few entries one month) which might cause it to roll over to the next month. In those cases having it all automatically organised wouldn't be ideal, so at the moment it's done manually. However, as I said, there are a good 5-6 people who are able to change it to voting now.

Also when you look at shots you have already voted on you can't see their tally either.

How about showing the tally on the gallery (overview) page along with each pics info?
On the other hand I also like not knowing the numbers. Then it's much more of a surprise in the end

I was just having a look around the POTM site and the first time i went to login, i was redirected to http://potm.webshaped.com/login and it just opened a blank page, however, going back in the browser showed that i was properly logged in?

I am loving some of these photos, they are amazing!

 

Seems you are still able to vote for yourself? Or do you get an error or something if you do?

Hi Nath. I think the vote counter on the front page is broken. When not logged in it says: "and users have cast votes this month.". Number missing.
