Simple ones guys - can you powdercoat or anodise acetal...? Or possibly chrome it...? Answers on a postcard...
as far as I'm aware if it's non conductive it can't be powder coated properly, it would have to be "dipped" if that makes sense.. some one else could elaborate i've got work to do..
Chrome Spray-paint. Never used it cant comment, but look around, there's plenty of other similar things. You could always apply silver leaf by hand!
For future reference, anodising only applies to aluminium. Chroming is for metals. Powder coating is for metals. I did see a while ago a guy experimenting with a conductive spray-paint which could be deposited onto plastic and then properly chromed.
Titanium and Niobium can be anodised, possibly others too, it depends on the nature of the oxide layer they form. Titanium can in fact be anodised many different colours without any dye. Non conductive materials cannot be anodised or chrome platen in the normal sense though there may be processes that produce the appearance of chrome plate. I don't think you can powder coat non-conductive materials in the normal way, the powder coating gun depends on the work piece being grounded to attract the electrostatically charged powder. Your best bet is definitely spray paint. Moriquendi
Two reasons as to why plastics can't be powder coated, one, there mainly non conductive, and two most plastics would deform in the bake process to cure the powder. After all powder coat is a plastic coating.
