So I've been getting tired of my power at home flickering on/off randomly and was looking at power backups. Newegg has a nice selection, but the reviews are all mostly terrible for anything below 300$, which is way more than what I want to invest in a power backup. I was thinking at most 200$ for an 850w one since my PSU is rated for 850W, and I also want to run 1 screen off it. Anyways, you guys got any suggestions? Also.. do all power backups have to make that bloody annoying alarm noise sh*tor can you turn that crap off permanently? I think I'd beat the thing with a hammer if it ever woke me up in the middle of the night..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842102048 Under $200, and rave reviews... Edit: After checking the specs it's also got a 'Silent' mode. Should fit your noise requirement.
Well the UPS arrived.. a bit weird, there was only one piece of (broken) styrofoam and the rest was paper. There was no manual, USB cable, coax cable, ethernet cable, CD software, no nothing cept the UPS. Naturally Newegg say it's not their fault and are not responsible for me not getting everything I paid for.. So much for buying nearly exclusively all my products from Newegg for the past 5 years.
Well, after looking at the page again, I really don't see any kind of packaging, or cables, so I can't really disagree with them, though that is pretty crappy... You would think a 'Retail' UPS would come in a retail box with all of the goodies... Also, Elton, why do you seem to necro post in EVERY single thread in the hardware section? Your post did nothing for the OP.
Ah but it does: In the "Specifications" tab, near the bottom Edit: Cyberpower replied, they're kindly sending me the missing items, yay!
Nice, glad the company is standing behind the product when newegg won't. Honestly, I'm disappointed by what newegg is turning into... When I first started ordering from them back in the day, they were GREAT with customer service. They even took back an item on RMA after the RMA time had passed, which impressed me. Now it seems they are only out to make money, regardless of customer satisfaction.
