Argh! I spent ages working out my new build (my christmas present from the Missus). I researched all my components, checked prices, and watched them fall in the run up to christmas. Nearly £800 in Chiropractor bills later, my new PC's not gonna happen. Not yet, anyway. She wanted to get me something, so I said "Get me the power supply, I can make use of it until I get the rest of the system in the new year" I'm gonna go for a Q6600, Asus P5K, Corsair XMS2 4-4-4-12, and an 8800GT. I was going to run this with an Antec Earthwatts 500W. The "80Plus" thing appealed to me, the power's enough for my needs, and at £46 inc. VAT from Ebuyer, it was a steal. So she ordered this the other day, plenty in stock, and they've just emailed to say it's discontinued (which is Ebuyer's generic response meaning "We've run out of stock, and don't know when we can get any") and that it won't be coming. My Question is this: Is there anything similar out there? Similar in quality, power and price? I've checked plenty of other sites, they have it in stock, for at least a tenner more. As a bit of a scrooge, I begrudge paying that for the same thing! I don't want to cheap out, but I don't want to have to sit in our overdraft just to get an e-peen PSU - I just want something that's going to do me right for the next 4-5 years (when my next upgrade is allowed). Thanks in advance, Rob
Or if you can't afford that, the HX520 is good too. I've always been a fan of Enermax's, so they are also an option.
