Electronics power supply help

    okay im looking at getting a small power supply to power 2 items
    item A: 12VDC, 3.99A, 4.79W
    item B: 12VDC, 0.69A, 8.3W
    would this be enough power for me?

    if you only need 12v then something like this should be all you need.

    If you know what you're doing with regard to wiring/drawing power from the right places, then yes.

    well each item is going to be running on 12 V
    one is a fan, and one is another item
    (just wait for the build log to get all of the blanks filled in :D )

    shouldn't that be 47.9 Watts?

    only thing you have to worry about is in-rush current. that is when you first turn something on, it draws a lot more current than during normal steady state operation. see if the 2 items spec in rush current, then use that to calculate your watts.

    I think the Disturbed one may have meant 0.399A (vs 3.99) @ 12V for a total of 4.79W for item A.

    Then again, maybe he really needs that 1.21 Gigawatts for the flux capacitor? What do I know?
