I have just finished buying all the parts for my new build and I probably already know the answer to this, but will sleeving the cables on my PSU void the lifetime warrenty?

I am looking to resleeve the whole thing and put new uv reactive ends on it. How long should i use it in the system to make sure its going to perform as expected. The PSU is a BFG EX-1200. I know this is probably a little over kill but i plan on having it for a while with future upgrde potential. When i Finally leave Iraq and get home i plan on building the system (Ive been told my house is over run with parts:D) and modding my old system.

Well thanks for taking the time to read this.

if you crack the case, you void the warranty. Seeing as it is a modular PS, you shouldn't have real issues on the cables, so long as you keep the old sleeving to (shudder) re-sleeve the cables if the PS takes a **** on you in the future.

If you also do the main cables, you will need to open the case to do a good job, voiding the warranty.

What sleeve are you planning on buying? I bought the ACRyan PSU modding kit a while back for my no-name 500W unit. If I go ahead and buy a 1U PSU for the SFF gaming rig I really want to build, then it'll have to be the full sleeving kit that you can buy from MDPC and MurderMod. Best stuff you can buy apparently.

I got my kit from FrozenCPU it wasnt too costly and it looked like it had a pretty good assortment of things with it including the tools to take the connectors apart. Im not sure that i am ready to open the lid on the power supply just yet i need to see if its gonna hold up to my 3 vid cards and my physics card along with running an OC 920. I have had real good luck with BFG top of the line customer service RMA a 5yo vid card with no hassel. I think i am going to sleeve up to where the wires enter the power supply for now. It shouldnt be too noticable as my PS is in the top of my case above the window.

Yeah, sleeve up to the hole and wrap in some black electrical tape near the hole if you want to hide colours.

Thanks i was kinda thinking something along those lines, it is a lot better than voiding a life time warrenty and it will still look good. I did go for the UV Reactive sleeving and while im at it i also went for the UV reactive sockets. I know its gonna be some work but i think i will be worth it in the end.:thumb:

In a similar position myself at the moment. New to the whole sleeving thing, but reckon it will be time well spent should it all go right.

Hope it works out for you. :)

In my personal opinion, I've always been against UV reactive sleeving, but that's mostly because I sleeve to help hide unsightly cables, no light them up in toxic green. That said, if it's pulled off properly and the cables are tidy, it should look pretty good. Good luck to you!
