my north bridge fan has died completely, how can i replace it (anyone can answer) i've seen some north bridge fans but the prob with mine is that is kinda sits inside the heatsink so doesnt havent the bottom bit (i brought another heatsink but gus what? i cant get the fan housing off, ideas anyone? my mobo is an AK-77 333)

and as for checking yours bud, erm, get a temperature probe, maplis do them i think, they arent too much cash!

Are you using the same PSU that was hit by the surge? If so it might be worth swapping it out and testing another in there to check.

Mothergooser, summit like the zalman northbridge coolers will do the job fine, add a fan if required, but they should do the job without.
(might also have been worth creating a new thread for that question rather than hijaking this one :) )
