I don't think there is much sense getting a 9800XT over a 9800 Pro. Then again, if you were thinking about spending the kind of money that you'd need for a 9800XT, you might as well go for an X800 or 6800 instead.

so if theres no point in getting the xt, as i understand most of the pros are 360cores anyway so a bios flash i presumer would sort that out...or overclocking??

but anyway, is there any point in getting a 256mb one over 128mb one and are IceQ or Saphire a safe bet? ta very much...

read a review of the 9800 pro range by various companies and the only reason the saphire one came out top was because of the cables bundled with it as they mae all the boards anyway
i see the power colour ones are £116 at microdirect just now

Both my Radeons are Powercolors (not through conscious decision, it's just how it turned out - what was available/cheapest/looked good) and they've both been tremendous performers. Some people call them budget/substandard but I can't see any basis for that claim ;)

    I got a Powercolor 9800pro just yesterday.
    R350 core, though.
Its an ok clocker. about 420core/340mem:)waah:) no artifacts (in AtiTool) I need to put some cooling on the memory, though. I can get 395(790) mem off the card with a cold boot. but it overheats pretty quick.

I've owned 2 Powercolor Radeon 9600pros. One overclocked really well, the other won't clock at all.
