I want to use this 19v laptop charger for running a few 120fans and a few lights. any one have any idea what I would have to do in order to use it for that.

plug the fans in straight :naughty: (just dont expect the full service life ;) ) or use a LM7812 to regulate the 19v to 12v, though you will be dissipating a good bit of heat if you pull a lot of power

    personally i wouldn't use a 19v charger,
if the fans are say 120mm case fans, and the lights are leds, 19v would be too much and regulating it down to 12 or 7.5 volts would produce lots of heat.
If you are set on using the 19 charger or you are using more current drawing electronics than leds and case fans, then use the charger,
but if you are only using them for what i said before, then try and find an old cell phone charger or something around 5~7 volts that would be safer and consume less power.
Let us know what you are going to power so we can better answer the question.
    Thanks

Well im sure i have an old cell phone charger, didn't think about that, I'm just using 2-4 120mm fans for the back of my entertainment center to vent out some air from the xbox 360, and a ccfl and possibly some leds and a temperature display. i have Thisand its a mini usb end on it, i think it'll work. Since noise is important for this I'd like to get the fans to run off 7v, or 5v.
