    Hey all

I have a psu downstairs in my house I need to power up when my main pc turns on and shut down when it turns off

Would the best way to achieve this be something like

    eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291765128777

Then I just write a little script and have it load when windows starts and shut down when windows shuts down?

Or would a standard 12v relay wired directly to the psu on the main computer be better? Or if anyone can think of a better way

    Thanks in advance

Something like this and just lengthen the two wires as necessary?

Asuras solution will work, but wont give any isolation. 12/5V relay on appropriate rail is easiest solution, and will give you isolation (if you stick the cable in inappropriate place, you wont fry your main rig PSU/MB). The module from ebay will give your option to toggle the remote PSU easily without turning your PC or messing with wires/switches.
You could also use something like this and do without any wires.
