Sorry if this is a dumb question, what modem do you guys suggest I use for setting up a dedicated firewall? I have set up loads of firewalls on fibre and EFM connections but not an regular ADSL lines.

The firewall can only passover with PPPOE, so I need a modem that can bridge the 2 together. I did try with a Zyxel VMG8925 in bridge mode but it didn't work. The customer cant upgrade to fibre or afford EFM. Thanks for looking :thumb:

Any Ethernet DSL modem should work. They tend to do the PPPoA/PPPoE themselves and then just bridge to the connected device.

I have only had 2 Zyxel routers to play with and neither worked in bridge mode. The Vigor 130 arrived today, I'll find out friday when I'm onsite if it works or not

Draytek 130 should do just what you want. I use one with my Unifi Security Gateway, as far as I understand it, it passes through the PPPoE.

Just get a modem and configure on the firewall, if it has PPPOE settings then you just need something to dial, a 120 will work, a 130 will work AND will work with Infinifty/VDSL. if you know anyone with an old infinity box that will also probably work or if you have one, I've used them in a bind but since BT dont supply them anymore, they are few and far between! but might be cheaper buying one of those than a draytek.

EDIT: just read you have bought the 130 already. good choice as they are good!
