Fixed the title. Spell checker doesn't work on titles.

i don't understand the need for these "instant on" things. what's wrong with putting your computer in standby? that's instant on as well. same thing for the obsession with getting netbook boot times down. i haven't done a cold boot on my netbook in months, why the heck should i care how long it takes to boot?

My Vista gets cranky if it's been on for 2 days , with nights on sleep. But only draws 6W at the wall in sleep mode, and only takes 4 seconds or so to turn on. Shame about the minute or several it takes to turn on when I've turned it off properly (still draws 3W at the wall though).

If it weren't for better and better integrated sleep modes etc, these instant-on things would be much bigger I'd say.

My Vista Sleep keeps playing silly buggers. On the timer mode (after 1 hour idle) it works fine, on the 'Sleep' button it wakes up instantly.

It was not always so, but I cannot trace what's started the problem. :duh:
