:) You've just reminded me of your "East Germany" comments on a previous podcast.
Maybe MP's will want them to cover their expenses tracks.

I, too, was expecting some sort of wisp of smoke self destruction >.>

It also sounds a bit like BS. Pretty much everything's recoverable.

Oh I don't know. In the first SSD labs test CPC had one that was military approved that could be physically be destroyed. I'm not quite sure how it worked though.

Depends which military. UK - give it a thorough kicking out the back. US - drop a JDAM on it. French - smoke a gauloise, have an affair, collaborate and finally get round to shooting it.

Is the drive a write off or not? Is only the data destroyed and can the drive be fixed with say an fdisk and format, or are the chips itself damaged beyond any repair?? Still sounds pretty interesting for military use, or maybe permanently hide some not to be disclosed data from say.. your mom? :p

Oh, well, physical destruction does kinda put the kybosh on data recovery ;)

This drive seems to be more along the line of "we erased the data >.>" rather than "We explode drive now k?"

"We explode drive now k" is a hell of a lot more fun. Just erasing is a bit of a letdown tbh.
