I started to play it... It's pretty good I guess, except the camera bugs the ****ing hell out of me. I'll eventually finish it I guess ;) .

Okay - finished the game last night. Can't remember having enjoyed a game so much! I like how the story line wraped up.

Anyhoo - what's the deal with POP1? I thought it unlocked after completion of the main game? I still can't select it from the extras menu (Still greyed out)

What a class game :D I actually clapped at the end. It's gotta be one of the best games I have played in a long time!

Did anyone else notice the CLASS soundtrack? Often neglected in games but not this one!

Its got superb features but the actual 3rd person perspective and camera angles annoyed the hell out of me too much, i uninstalled it after the first level after playing the same bit 5 times cause the idiot didnt know which way to jump  Also, the battles have some nice moves, but are hella slow. Im shouting at the monitor saying "slice slice!! FFS ****ING SLICE HIM!" and its just sloooooow.

Got great potential, but let down imo :(

Saying all this, im playing KOTOR atm, which has an even worse fighting design!?

Just went through reading everything in this thread, and wow - looks like the game is really good based on all your comments.

I absolutely loved Prince of Persia 1 & 2 on the PC waaaay back and I've been meaning to buy Sands of Time since I heard about it but just wasn't sure if it was going to be good.

Can't wait to buy it & spend my weekend playing! :D

One of the best (if not the best) single player games out there. You won't regret it. :thumb:

    HELP!!!

I'm SOOOOO eager to play this game.
Just installed it, intro and movies play fine no problems, however when I'm in the actual game, it's all 'out of focus' is the best way I can describe it, is that just part of the first stage?

Tried dropping the resolution down to 800x600 but that made no difference.

Running it on an ATi 9500 card...

EDIT : just sorted it, for the record - it was the Special Effects setting that I had to drop to Medium.

    I'm off to play!

    The game is quality :)
if you have problems with water being really bright, turn off AA in display properties.

Splinter cell had a common problem pretty similar to bright light from windows and disabling AA fixed it (before the patch)

To unlock POP1, there is a gate that drew up when you pushed a lever around. If you keep pushing the lever so it points at a wall (and the gate consequently shuts again) and then hit it with your sword, it smashes and leads to a staircase to the first game. Don't go and play it yet, as you'll have to complete it to get back to the Sands of Time game! (I think). It has unlocked it and is available to play off the main menu screen.

At least, that's what I've read. It worked while playing it at my sisters on her PS2, but I tried it on my PC and however I hit the same wall it wouldn't break.

It is an amazing game though. Iirc, I'm about 60-something % way through. Some very, very clever puzzles - very action oriented.

I agree with most of you. This is one of the best SP games I've ever come across. Next best thing since Mafia. The camera angles can be a bit annoying at first and another annoying thing is how long and monotonously the fights are. Other than that, I enjoyed it very much.. so much I played through the game 3 times.

Best levels/places in the game have to be the "library" and "the prison" (I love all that climbing :D )

I can't remember what percent I'm at, but I'm in the caverns. "Sure, I can meet you at the baths. I only had to journey half way around the world. I found some baths, but those weren't the right ones... STOP TALKING TO YOURSELF!" :hehe: It took me about 2 hours to get the controls down to a good comfortable level, but I really love the game. I like that you don't have the frustration of older games with stupid puzzles (why don't you just CLIMB OVER THAT FENCE INTO THE YARD!!!!) since you primarily have to interact with the obstacles. I'll be playing it once I get some more time at home. (Currently, all the friends are home from college and demand all my spare time).

Up to 90-odd percent, nearly there!!

I'm up to a point where you have to run up a wall, kick off and grab a switch. I keep falling down a hole in the middle of the room though :wallbash:

The mirror puzzle after the 'dream' took me a wee while to suss out. Best idea is to use the pan zoom out button so you can see more of what you have to do.

Rah! Completed it this Sunday just gone.

What a game! Absolutely amazing. I don't think a game has been this good to play since the first Tomb Raider came out.

I hope there are plans to make another game in the series.

nothing like digging up old threads ;)

Finally got round to installing this yesterday and i have to say its class. the camera angles is just shocking most of the time and the fight's are a bit silly sometimes. Only about 15% through so far and have to battle the old man in the reception hall, quite hard as you get attacked from all sides all of the time and the woman shoots you as well ;) jumping from wall to wall just before you collect the dagger at the beginning done my nut in. Thankfully its a million times better than the last effort...:eyebrow:

The original was without a doubt one of the best games of all time, as peeps have said before the level design was superb and to have a game of this quality back then was amazing. Never ever completed it tho, kept getting stuck on the last level, the floor switch for the door was above it on an unreachable ledge.. played through it so far so many times, just a shame you had to start every level from scratch each time.

Ok, I know that probably everyone has completed this game months ago, but I only just started playing it again and just finished it.

What a game, I really enjoyed it, I was hooked, I played it from start to finish in 2 days much to the anger of my g/f & everyone else complaining that I am always playing games :blah:

I only wish it was slightly longer, and the end fight scene should have been a lot more difficult IMO, otherwise, top quality
