Original story In the past month the senate investigations have reveraled that Bush and co. did indeed lie and manipulate evidence to get us into war with Iraq and that the use of torture was approved at the top. These things are not longer cosnpiracy theories, hypotheticals, or matters of conjecture. The problem, and this may wind up being more damaging that the revelations, is that I can't see there being ANY accountability for these acts. Political expiediency is more important than justice in America today and in no way can that be a good thing.
So essentially, the US Government knowledgeably allowed for the use of inhumane torture methods on their Guantanamo prisoners, such as sleep deprivation and stress positions. Is there not some UN constitution that talks about the protection of human rights? Or yet again, is America exempt from all international policies...
I wonder if the people involved understand why people dont like them? Bush should be tried for war crimes. Lying and manipulate evidence to goto war is a crime isn't it? well it should be...
Lol. What WAS the reason he gave for going to war in Iraq? I recall he was searching for WMD's. No wait. Terrorists. No wait. Stability.... and erm.... peace? And why has 'Osama Bin Laden' stopped releasing video tapes, and moved onto audio files - is his camcorder broken ? And why, if he cares so much for peace, does he continue to supply the state if Israel with weapons. I'm quite sure that the existence of "Israel" is also against UN constitution as well... Not much I can really do about it. My sympathies are with the people whose countries have been raided and whose homes and families have been destroyed, and with the families of the soldier's whose lives have been lost, for a cause which the whitehouse seems reluctant to tell us.
