Windows Problem installing windows

    Hey

    I'm the friend building the computer.
    Please excuse any incorrect terms that I use because I am a n00b.

    I have removed any unnecessary parts, including the extra stick of ram. I have set it to a single hd as well.

    still the error message.

    Any other ideas, or should I try getting a new hd.

    It seems unlikely that both hard drives would be defective though.

    we figured it out

    seems to be a huge problem gigabyte's side. The board we got is completely different from the specs on the real board (it's actually a lot better), yet it has the right model stamp on the board and box. Seems like a lot of people are getting this problem. We're going to RMA it to gigabyte and get a different model.
