Ok Im suffering from a strange problem.

I can play online games use Team Speak, Use MSN. Download with Bittorent but I can not view any websites.

I have tried viewing a website on all 4 of my pc's and both my laptops and they are all running windows XP PRO except the Laptops which are using Home.

It seems that a couple of websites are working like yahoo and bit-tech. these are the only sites I can view. Any other site I try and I just get the loading bar at the bottom of explorer loading for hours and not moving at all.

2 websites out of the millions out there is not enough for me and its peeing me off.

Anyone know why other sites like www.ebay.co.uk www.overclockers.co.uk www.watercooling.co.uk are not loading.

I have no downloads happening and my FTP server is offline. All machines off and try one at a time and still nothing. Rebooted Firewall/router. Checked router logs and nothing in there.

Oh please some smart computer guy tell me whats wrong. While im at it, could I please request someone to post AOL freephone telephone number as I cant even get on www.aol.com site. So I can check its not them causing this annoyance.

    Thanks Guys

So you are using the AOL browser? I don't know if you can with AOL, but change your browser and see if that works.

There have been issues with IE not working for no reason known to man! So try another browser.

If that doesn't work then try a system restore or reinstall your network/modem drivers.

    And check your DNS.

Type 66.102.9.147 into the browser, this is Google's IP. If this works then you have a problem with your DNS server.

You should be able to search Mozilla after you've reached google.

You got the problem on all computers?

Well, I am about 99% sure its a DNS server problem. What does your router say about the DNS?

Hey its working now, not sure its from me or random. I did disable DMZ in the router and set MTU size to 1400.

Its all working, got access to all my sites again. So strange.

Thanks for your help though Mrwillywonka, you have been quick replying and tempted to help me. Thanks Mate :thumb:

    Bit of explantion here...

DNS stands for Domain Name System and converts a webpage domain - www.google.com for instance into an IP address, so that your browser knows which server to connect to in order to display your website. If there is a problem with the DNS server (which changes a web address to an IP for your computer) then you will not be able to view pages because the browser does not know where to go!

Refreshing your connection to a DNS server will probably connect it to a different, working DNS server!
