I just started building my new system and i got a problem.

My machine starts and within about 6-7seconds it shutsdown.
I only have the graphics and the hd plugged in, and monitor stays blank.

How do you know if your cpu is fried, & is mine fried.

    Specs:

    Abit-KT7A
    Athlon 1ghz
    Voodoo Banshee
    128mb RAM
    Maxtor 20gb HD

    Yep tried it.

Forgot to mention that i already tried it.
I was thinking that my core may have been crushed when i put on my HSF (Fop-32). But i can't tell, and i can't see the core coz i got Arctic Silver on it.

    Any Ideas

    Cheers, H.

sounds like the chip is busted.

Clean up the chip and look for damage. Also see if you can smell anything burning
