    Hello,
    i have a C2D e6600 with sunbeamtech heatsink/fan, an intel 975xbx, 1gb corsair 675 ddr2 XMS, 7900GTX
i cant get in the bios to overclock the processor, i can get in the bios, but their is no feature to let me overclock.
i heard that this motherboard is great overclocker,
and also, my e6600 idle 43 C, is that good, shouldnt it be lower.
    THank you

Thats not a very good choice in motherboard, does this even support core 2 duo fully? i would totaly check. but i dont think this board was made for core 2 duo.

The Intel XBX bad axe board does support C2D (blue heatsinks, not yellow on VRMs).

Uh, I cannot remember off the top of my head where the overclocking options are. It's only recently that Intel has allowed ocing on their boards and im almost certain the Bad Axe does, try and get an updated BIOS from Intel's site.

There should be an option called frequency control (iirc) under advanced options, perhaps. I havent got the board to hand so I cant check, sorry.

The intel boards tend to have limited options, but there should be a few (FSB/Strap/VID/Vdimm etc) available afaik.
    Have a scan over this
    over at XS.

The board overclocks ok, but you really need vmods to make it shine. The bios options are somewhat limited. Temp wise, 43 idle seems a touch high how hot is the heatsink?

the heatsink isnt very hot at all, rather, its very cool, which is odd
thx highlander....great help, much appreciated..but i suck with solder, i will try however, when it says however " conroe support ", do i have to do that, or since my conroe works fine, i wouldnt have to?

also, will intel ever do a realease just unlock the full bios....is it possible.

Afaik the conroe support bit is only for some of the earlier rev boards. The bios unlock (if you don't already have the options) should work fine tho.
The options available are enough to allow fairly decent overclocking. What you can't do from in bios you can do in windows via Clockgen and Memset
