Running windows 2003 server (converted to workstation) and latest updates.

Abit Siluro FX5200 (passively cooled) with latest dets.

Whenever I play a DVD, all I can see on screen is a white block, nothing else.

Anyone know why this could be and what I can do to fix it ?

What software are you using for the DVDs...?
    - Could be any number of things I suppose....
Check that full hardware acceleration is selected in windows>performance options...
    - Also check that your DVD software has Hardware Acceleration enabled...

Other than that, could be dodgy Mpeg2 codecs (or lack of one).....

I clocked down the processor from 2.8 GHz to 2.7 GHz (FSB from 156 to 150) and it went away.

    Everything works fine now.

Time for a mobo upgrade me thinks.
