I have just updated by only 32bit machine to 64bit and when i went to start folding again i keep getting this message: + Could not get ID from server. Retrying... [09:37:52] + Could not connect to Primary Assignment Server for ID [09:37:52] + Could not connect to Secondary Assignment Server for ID any suggestions
Can you ping the Stanford Assignment servers from the folding rig? Try running these commands in a command prompt: Code: tracert assign.stanford.edu tracert assign2.stanford.edu tracert 171.65.103.93 tracert 171.64.65.121 Do they work? Also, try opening these in your browser: http://www.stanford.edu http://assign2.stanford.edu http://assign.stanford.edu:8080 You should just see "OK" in the browser window for the last 2. Also, what anti-virus package is on the rig?
Cheers guys for your responses: Ph4lanx - All tests passed saspro - ports 80 and 8080 are open. its weird because i have a machine next to this one which is send and receiving work correctly. P.S i'm on linux so windows based solution will not work, I have seen the various IE suggestions and AVG
Do you run a proxy or anything like that? Is perhaps the proxy accidentally set in the client.cfg or something? You're not trying to run bigadv are you?
Fixed it. Thread: http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=13064&p=145633#p145633 helped I had turned off nscd, Enabled it and bang it could contact the server again. My distro is fedora 12 hopefully google will index this for future generations
