    Hello people,
I have come here because I am having problems with my 6600GT, I told a friend and he reccomended I came here ... and so, here I am.

Basically, My 6600GT is messed up.

I woke up this morning and put FarCry on, settings to VERY HIGH as usual, maybe this is too high but it usually works absolutely fine, anyway, as soon as i start a new campaign, i realise something isn't right. As the camera pans down on Jack laying in the water, the graphics looked terrible. And then the gameplay started, everything was exreemely BRIGHT.

I walked outside and tonnes of objects are just displayed as WHITE, and the water looks as if the settings are set to LOW. I was crying at this point and thought, right, stop and try and sort it.

Here is what i have done, and here is what i have came up with.

    1. I re-installed FarCry, nothing has changed.
    2. I noticed that when i click on Auto Detect in the Advanced Graphics options, it auto sets to LOW!!! Omg!
    3. I cried.
    4. I turned off my computer to let it cool down, checked that my fan is ok and all is good. The temperature of my card is 50C.

Here is some things that might help you find out what is wrong. I have a screenshot i took the day before, and a screenshot that is of today.

Last night i stayed round a friends, i came home, played Counter Strike source, and didn't notice anything wrong until i loaded up FarCry.
Last night i left Guild Wars minimized all night because i stayed over a mates.
As you can see by the two screenshots SOMETHING IS WRONG.
50C is the temparature of my card.

If you need any more information, just ask, i will be happy to help you help me :p thanks in advanced everybody.

Goodbye hope to hear from you soon :p Crying

It's possible that the drivers are somehow corrupt. Try removing and reinstalling the latest official release. What is the spec of the rest of your system?

Have you tried other games to check for odd behaviour?

Perhaps download the patch file to your desktop, then run it from there? :dunno:
