    Hi,

I recently built my 1st PC. Nearly everything went perfectly however when connecting the wires that serve the front panel of the case i connected the headphone connecter to the mobo but as this is on the same wire as the microphone connecter the wire would not reach the mic socket on the mobo at the same time.

I have a fractal refine r3 and an Asus p67a-gd53 b revision mobo.

    Regards,

    MustangTC

There are extension cables available. Search your preferred etailer for hd audio extension.

I hat hoped as much but I didn't have the foggiest what the wire would be called!

Is a HD audio extension universal for both the audio and headphone input?

    Thanks so much!

Mustang, are you sure the cable is not long enough, I have a Define R3 and the cable is plenty long enough. I have routed the cable behind the motherboard tray and out through a gap between the mobo and power supply, it was a perfect fit.

You might just want to get an inexpensive Sound card. Takes the strain of the mobo, better quality, and EVERY case I have ever owned has had a screwed up front panel.

    Just my experience
