Hi:) I installed the original Halo on my new PC. When I went to play it with SLI enabled,... it's looked like utter crap. Seriously. It's appears as if the colors arent mixing. The screen has a flicker to it. It sucks.

When I disable it, it looks so much better. Anyone experience something like this? Am I miss something here?

EVGA 790i mobo, Intel Q9300, dual 9800gtx's, 4GB of ram, XP Home

    Thanks.

Hell yeah. LOL. But still,... SLI is yummy. I'm going to try a new game and see what happens.

You need to test it with other games and then test each card on its own to be sure if its an issue with the game, the SLI setup itself or either of the cards.

I agree that a single 9800 should allow you to run Halo maxed out and probably on a 24" monitor at native resolution, I doubt you'll get any additional benefit from SLI - other that generating extra heat.

Remember that not all games like SLI/Crossfire and likewise SLI/Crossfire doesn't necessarily mean double the performance - at best you're likely to see about a 50% increase. You're also at the mercy of the quality of the drivers you use.

Personally I'd rather spend the extra cash on buying a great single card rather than two lesser cards as multiple GPU's are inherently flakey. I never bought into the hype that two cards means twice the power, I always reckoned it was a myth perpetuated by the graphics cards companies to get you to buy twice as many of their products.
