Im getting "Power Calibration Errors" in Nero :( Ive only ever used 1 brand of disks to do 4x and ive done nearly 100 fine, im down to my last 10 now and suddenly they are giving me jip? Google search tells me that you get the error from cheap/crappy media - but they are Ritek G04 dye Grade A disks and 90 previous to it have worked without fail. I have to try and burn it about 3 times before it actually burns now!? Is it on its way out you recon? It doesnt look if my media is duff - the dye looks fine and they dont have any scratches. Anyone else had these errors ever? Using one of the latest updates of Nero 5.5.1x.something

I've got the same burner and i use Ritek Discs (usually the ones with a orange picture on top, but sometimes the plain white ritek ones aswell). I found about half the discs fail writing at 4x, i think its the burner. Try burning at 2x to see if that helps :p When i burn movies at 4x, They burn fine, but the video and audio breaks up about 5/6 of the way through the movie :eyebrow:. Id rather spend more time burning, leave the computer alone and unplug the internet and network, and have a perfect burn and not waste any (pretty expensive really, compared to cds) dvd discs. ;)
Im using "nero express" which was bundled with my burner. When i read dvd movies, i don't use nero, but they read at full speed anyway, so its definatly the burning...

think i've only had 1 coaster, and thats cos when i moved to new case i put it on the same channel as the dvd-rom :wallbash: didnt like that :)
