Ive got a DHCP cross over connection between my GbE onboard and 10/100 USB-LAN adapter. Both are set to 100Mbit but it only ever fills 6% total utilisation!?
Is it the fact one adapter is usb? Cause i never had this problem before when it was a pci card in the other pc.

USB what? if it is 1.1 you will only get 12mbps as a theoretical maxmimum, 6mbps seems like it would be a little on the slow side for actual transmission though.

Im pretty sure its USB2, as is the mobo (ICH4), which is confusing me. Ive only got a USB2 harddisk on the other usb socket and dataflow doesnt affect whether im using the harddisk or not.
