Theres a little program in the Windows\System32 folder called shutdown.exe. If you go to the command prompt and type in "shutdown /?" (without quotes) it will give you a list of options you can use. You could then set up a monitoring program like motherboard monitor to excecute that program if the CPU got too hot.

Btw, most modern mother boards that have temp monitoring support (practicaly all of them) have the option to shut down the computer if it gets to hot automaticaly. Just head into your bios and have a look arround, there should be something about it in there (usualy under hardware monitor or simmilar). But how high are your temps that your worried about it frying something?

Not that high. I just whated a program that could monitor things as my mother bord chip gets very hot to touch but gives a good temp reading? And my processor is water cooled and if some think filed I would prefer it to shutdown sooner as my mother bord temps thing starts at 70c bit high for me.

Belive me, you won't be able to fry anything at 70c, hell, there are a few rigs that people have posted here that run normaly above 70c. But I can understand your worry with a water cooled system. If you do want something lower though, go with what rich suggested.
