Networks Programs will just NOT connect.

    Hi guys, about 2 weeks ago Some programs i use e.g. Limewire, Bit comet and Flash FXP ceased to conect and they still wont. I checked my firewalls and they are not blocked and im really starting to get annoyed..any ideas?

    You still have Internet access, etc.? Have you tried completely disabling the firewall? How are you connecting?

    I connect from a router via switchbox and my internet is working fine, i can also download things from websites fine.

    Perhaps your ISP are block the ports? Which ISP is it?

    That's what I think too, more and more ISPs are doing this as it takes up a bulk of their traffic, and is mainly for illegal reasons.

    Have you tried connecting directly to the net, perhaps with the modem that was supplied by the ISP?

    I am using Talk Talk Broadband..i rang them and although i knew this wasnt the problem they told me to talk to to makers of the programs..staff etc. They are no help at all.

    have you made sure none of them are tryin to use a proxy that no longer works? gateway still correct? sites ur tryin to connect to still up? (Tracert)

    you could something like ethereal to see whats going on at packet level. Can you see logs in your router?
