Ive got a Ronin DVD player that has progressive scan on it. I know its better, but it doesnt seem to have an option of enabling it in the setup. Does the TV need to be compatible too? Or is it only down to the player?

Its setup thru SCART, unlocked firmware.

Dang, i dont think it has then :waah: :grr:
I should imagine its probably only the 100hz TVs do cause PS is effectively twice the freq. than interlaced.

My understanding of the subject is that you need both a progressive scan source (DVD player, X-Box etc) and a progressive scan capable display (television, projector etc). You will then need to connect the two using a component video cable as, afaik, this is the only connection method capable of carrying progressive scan signals. Once you have all of that set up, simply go into the DVD player's menu and tell it to output a progressive scan signal rather than interlaced (I guess you may need to do this in the television's menu too). Bear in mind that if you try to output a progressive scan signal to an incompatible display you will not be able to see anything, and will probably have to reset all of the DVD player's settings to default in order to fix it.
