Im Back for yet another project After finishing bh2 and taking it to i26 it kinda dawned on how much i missed my little shuttle for lanning and having as second pc. so i had a good think and decided to do yet another watercooled sff just cause i love water and the challenge of fitting it all nicly into such a small space. So we have the victim A 3hour old Asus ah1 barebones (sorry for the cack cam.) To get most of the bits i downgraded bh2 a bit, it now only has a gig of ram one gtx, the 4400+ and a single raptor rather than its raid set. but on that note it allowed me to fill this baby with all the stuff a lan rig should have. Specs --------------------------------------------------------- Asus Ah1 barebones Fx-57 2gb ocz pc3200 7800gtx extreme edition (490+ core 1.3mem) 74 gig raptor Nec 3500a dvd-rw X-fi extreme music Cooling --------------------------------------------------------- Csp-mag Swiftech mini res Nv-40block gtx mosfet block hd-o-matic Bix single cpu block is yet undecided (dunno whats good theses days) Having built one of these barebones for a friend i must say its easly the best iv ever used to built for the price (£100) It has all the usual stuff, but what the site dosnt tell you is that it can take a fx-57 and dual cores (tryed with the one i built before starting this project) it also has s-ata 2 and 4 port s-ata raid, pci-e. The shuttle equivelent if almost 350 pound. which puts this asus feature wise top of its class. At the moment The plan, all for tonight Sc4mpi out Comments
top stuff matey...i cant wait but could you give a few more first hand details bout the mobo please...like form factor,chipset,sound,single/dual channel ram.. bits like that...i mean if ur saying that this machine is really a shuttle killer i may go for one.
Pci-e 16x 4x raid, 2x s-ata 2x s-ata 2 pci-e 1x pci x2 takes the fx 57 with no problems and booted with a 4400 x2 in it as well Mobo is a mini atx 24pin and plus p4 connector, the psu is a normal 300watt atx psu can be swaped out with any thats 140mm deep but no longer than 190mm deep (the 300 watt runs the specs for the project with no problems btw) got dual channel, 4 slots, got 8.1 onboard audio, same as the nforce4 boards, but im using x-fi, comes with the case a 300watt the mobo, a floppy drive preinstalled, can take 2 5x1/4" and 6x 3 1/2" inc the floppy AMD Athlon 64FX/Athlon 64 Socket 939 - North Bridge: ATI RS482 - South Bridge: ULI M1573 - 4 x DIMM (Dual Channel) DDR 400/333 Support max. 4GB - 2 x PCI - 1 x PCI-e x 16 - 1 x PCI-e - ATI RADEON 9600-based core - 1 x UltraDMA 133/100/66 - 4 x Serial ATA - Azalia CODEC ALC861 8-Channel Codec all for £100 quid, as i said its easly the best for the price at this sort of level. the shuttle equivelent is nearly 200 quid more, and this u can have proper heatsinks on for instants thats a 120mm zalman in the pic on my one.
Looks nice , top notch little rig you got going on. So fancy poping your spare in the post lol 2 monster PCs now thats a killer , hope that thing flys oh and just looked at the diagram i was thinking why not boot the HDD-o-matic and try one of those Zalman coolers the one with the heatpipes the raptors arn't that bad and you would save flow and heat which in such a small space would be good . Morgan.
Good luck with this bud, ill ctahc ya on msn too bout this, but as you said a good challenge is to b had Phil
crazy mofo lol, come on then i wanna see dual loops and 2 rads in that case now thats a challange to be had morgan.
Hi sc4mpi Whats ur SuperPI time for 1million mine is 59secs With veince 3000+ and a gigi of ocz ram? Dec
